The Electriks crew are celebrating a year since the opening of the immediately legendary Refuge. Rather than have a quiet sit down and reflect on a successful year, they’ve decided to party on by bringing back two giants: the Electric Chair name and a long time friend in the form of WorldWide FM, Talkin’ Jazz and Brownswood supremo Gilles Peterson. Sandwiching Gilles in the basement will be Martin Brew and Ruf Dug. James Holroyd and Will Tramp look after the public bar while the Waterhouse Way courtyard plays host to the Unabombers. They’ve also given you a drink on them: download your voucher (they’re limited!) here.

Sat 30 Sep, The Refuge, The Principal Hotel, Oxford Street, Manchester M60 7HA. Tel: 0161 233 5151, 10pm-4am, £15.00, www.skiddle.com
