Sambrosa All Stars have added a second show at Band on the Wall for their performance of the 1997 classic, Buena Vista Social Club. Sambroso All Stars are a 7-piece all star band based in London, combining Cuban Son, Latin Jazz and Rumba. Headed by renowned percussionist Oresta Noda, Sambrosa have taken their Cuban fusion to sell-out audiences everywhere, including two memorable sell-outs at Band on the Wall last year. This time around, their performance of Buena Vista Social Club is not to be missed. Led by legendary Cuban bandleader Juan de Marcos González, Buena Vista featured an ensemble of Cuban musicians, some in their 70s and 80s, playing traditional Cuban music, including the old-fashioned ballads, boleros. The recording became an international best-seller, introducing scores of listeners to Cuban music and spawned a revival in Cuban genres and a documentary on the group by Wim Wenders. 23 years later, Sambrosa will continue this tradition in their energetic interpretation at Band on the Wall.
