Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros are set to play Jodrell Bank later this summer. The third ‘transmission’ in the Live at Jodrell Bank series – following on from the Flaming Lips and Elbow in previous years – will feature visuals projected on to the Cheshire site’s 76-metre Lovell telescope, plus a substantial supporting bill and science arena. Sigur Ros, who have released six studio albums including last year’s Valtari, are touring extensively this year, with stop-offs at Manchester Apollo on 3 and 4 March. Tickets for Sigur Ros at Jodrell Bank go on sale at 9am on Friday 18 January.
