This November the perpetually trendy Fairfield Social Club will be hosting a party thrown by Design Manchester 2019. This Official DM Party will boast appearances from Extinction Rebellion, Glastonbury’s Shangri-La and Paris 68 Redux, with each team crafting, upcycling and providing an opportunity for you to get hands on with offcuts from local art store Fred Aldous. The event will also feature talented individuals from all sides of the creative spectrum – including artists, musicians and activists – with a live artwork created during the shindig by Mancunian triumvirate Atelier Bebop, Caroline Dowsett and Barney Ibbotson. The artistic culmination of their collaboration will be auctioned off to support Manchester’s own independent mental health charity Manchester Mind, an indispensable asset to the city. Live music will be provided by Joy Social, with live visuals and sonic acoustics provided by James Dickinson. Drinks will be flowing aplenty alongside a range of food, so there’s no excuse not to come down to have a boogie. Fairfield Social Club is located a stone’s throw from Piccadilly Train Station – nestled neatly underneath the arches supporting the railway lines above it – in a Mancunian location that is truly one of a kind. Tickets can be purchased on the Design Manchester 2019 website, and it is recommended that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
