Turning 19 can be a significant age for a lot of people. For some, it’s not being kicked out of clubs anymore because you’ve realised the detriment of tequila . For Bridie Monds-Watson, she can already reel off her several EPs and recently released debut album Before We Forgot How to Dream. She records under the name SOAK and given her CV and years on earth so far, it  makes her remarkably insightful adult observations within her lyrics all the more astounding. Her songs are wonderfully and almost uncomfortably intimate; words sung in a distinctive Derry tongue with melancholic soulfulness. Her show at Salford’s Sacred Trinity Church didn’t take long to sell out – don’t miss her upcoming show at Gorilla.
