When you hear the name Steve Davis you will almost certainly be picturing a waistcoat and a snooker cue, but it might be more appropriate to see the former World Champion behind the decks than at the Crucible given his moonlighting as avant-progressive DJ. His latest outing will be to bring his astonishing and eclectic record collection to The Deaf Institute in December with Knifeworld’s Kavus Torabi for a night of left field music from the man they used to call ‘The Ginger Magician’ back in his Snooker days. Once you get past the idea that the DJ used to appear on Big Break you can indulge in one of the most progressive sets you’ll hear anywhere in the city.
