When it comes to flower shows: don’t think Chelsea, think Cheshire. The Royal Horticultural Society’s (hardy) perennial event is taking place in July at Tatton Park, Knutsford. Noted designers will be going head-to-head to win Best Show Garden, whilst providing visitors with inspirational ideas. It isn’t just for the landed gentry; one exhibit will demonstrate what you can achieve in even the smallest spaces. At the Floral Marquee you can buy flowers from 70 British and international nurseries, including everyday favourites and unusual gems. And you can also meet the experts who will explain how to care for the plants. The Country Living Pavilion will showcase the talents of artisan designers and crafts people. Expect an array of home accessories, handmade jewellery, and clothes. The Park’s theatres will be host to over 150 talks/workshops from a range of experts. Here, you can learn skills like flower arranging and cultivating your own herbs.
