The popular phenomenon that is TED continues as TEDx rolls in for this annual event. Working on the basis of ‘ideas worth sharing’, the programme aims to provide a TED event-like experience for the local community, giving fans the opportunity to engage in stimulating conversation. Speakers at the event include university professors Clive Agnew, the Vice President for Teaching Learning & Students at the University of Manchester, who will be talking about the future of university education, and Julian Dodd, who will give a lecture on the intersections between music and philosophy. Local singer-songwriter Nancy Elizabeth (pictured) will also be making an appearance, explaining the process behind the writing of her alluring, folksy music, while acclaimed tabla player Shahbaz Hussain and Elliot Woods – of Kimchi and Chips – are also set to give talks on their areas of profession. To apply for tickets, email Tedx.
