Big screen revivals of cinema classics have been all the rage of late with the Odeon’s ongoing Flashback series resurrecting cult classics and Cornerhouse continuing its matinee showings of golden age films. Another theatre to get in on the act is the Dancehouse. Following successful showings of The Goonies, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and other celluloid treats, they are offering a more immersive cinema-going event, with patrons encouraged to dress as film characters, and food and drink offers based around the film (although unfortunately they didn’t serve the veal scalopini during The Goonies showing). This time they join forces with the Kahlua Coffee House for a screening of The Big Lebowski, and offer you a cinema cup full of the best White Russian in town, as well as two other Kahlua-based cocktails mixed up by The Liquorists. The Coen Brother’s shaggy dog tale of kidnap, severed toes and nihilists sits perfectly with the coffee liqueur, which recently vacated The Market restaurant, leaving everyone wanting more. Early bird tickets are only £15 so make sure you book immediately and be a Little Lebowski Urban Achiever.
