Manchester’s Albert Hall is tracing its roots by staging a show crammed with people’s favourites to mark the 100th anniversary of the venue’s established People’s Concerts (which obviously took a break before the venue’s impressive renovation and reopening in 2012). With British Sea Power, Field Music, Dutch Uncles and Boxed In confirmed to perform – as well as new addition, Girl Ray, pictured, the extended event looks set to live up to its billing. As cult heroes, headliners BSP take centre stage to play tunes from their latest LP, Let The Dancers Inherit The Party, but there’s a festival feel to the line-up with a full night’s worth of the best indie-pop in the world right now. Between acts, BBC Radio 6Music’s Marc Riley will be whipping the crowd into a frenzy. You can expect this one to sell out shortly.

Sat 11 Nov, Albert Hall, 27 Peter Street, Manchester, M2 5QR. Tel: 0161 817 3490, 5pm-late, from £20, tickets on sale Fri 9 Jun, www.seetickets.com
