The Slow Show are coming home for Christmas to play a special concert at St Philip’s Church. The Manchester band are no strangers to entertaining in an ecclesiastical setting, having been hand-picked by Elbow as their warm-up act at Manchester Cathedral a few years ago. With songs from this year’s acclaimed White Water album up their sleeves, the quintet’s masterful sense for the grand occasion can combine with the ornate surrounds to promise a cockle-warming show as winter encroaches. Manchester Brass Ensemble and the heartstrings-plucking We Were Strangers will be on hand to open proceedings.
