Can you believe it’s been 50 years since the release of The Beatles’ Abbey Road? Neither can The Untold Orchestra – that’s why they’re celebrating its half-century birthday with 50 Years of Abbey Road; An Orchestral Rendition – an event that’ll see this eclectic collective breathe new life into the Fab Four’s classic record. This one-off event is due to take place on the evening of Sat 28 Sep at the newly established NIAMOS Radical Arts Theatre in the heart of Hulme, just a stone’s throw from the area’s legendary Hulme Hippodrome where the Beatles themselves played back in the 1960s. This event comes hot off the heels of The Untold Orchestra’s recent collaboration with Snarky Puppy’s Bill Laurence on his upcoming album Cables and their debut event Nina: An Orchestral Rendition, which celebrated the life and legacy of Nina Simone. The orchestra itself is made up of a host of Manchester’s finest classical, pop and jazz musicians and will for this event they’ll be joined on stage by vocalists like Jenna G, Martin Conner, Will Jaquet and more artists to help perform a selection of The Beatles’ biggest hits, orchestra-style. Tickets are available from £14.55 (inc. booking fee) and can be purchased via the link below.
