Pysch rockers The Warlocks include Manchester on a European tour to air their latest LP, Songs From The Pale Eclipse. Erupting from the same west coast alt-rock scene as serial staff rotators The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Warlocks shared BJM’s penchant for an ever-changing personnel until settling on the seven-piece who’ll perform at Band on the Wall. Brian Jonestown’s Anton Newcombe himself was a temporary band mate, but The Warlocks now revel in pounding their own musical path, erecting great walls of cosmic psychedelia through their unrelenting dual drums and quad guitars. The album’s lead single, ‘Only You’, points to a shoegazing direction, so expect the full breadth of psychedelic music on show.
