Book now: Toy arrive at Band on the Wall in November

Band on the Wall welcome London’s TOY, whose krautrock-inspired, psychedelic rock have made them established figures of the alternative scene since their self-titled debut in 2012. For this specially curated show, TOY will be expanding songs from their critically lauded fourth record, Happy in the Hollow, which was released in January. While the record continues the shoegazey sounds and absorbing, layered guitars of the band’s previous releases—such as the laidback sounds of Join the Dots (2013) and Clear Shot (2015)—Happy in the Hollow is TOY’s most direct and propulsive record yet, from the tight rhythm section leading opening track, Sequence One, through to sprawling 7-minuter, The Willo. TOY will be joined on the night by Madrid-born, Manchester-based solo performer Mutabase, whose DIY anarcho-punk music and intense live shows have made her one to watch. Leading local selector, Sofie K, completes this special bill.
