Tickets are now on sale for Velio, which (the organisers claim) is the world’s first cycling festival. Taking place in mid-September, it features three days of camping in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire. All skill levels are catered for, with routes from 3km to 100km, plus rides for kids and those with disabilities.
The headliner is Velutopia which is an adrenaline-fuelled 14km race along closed roads with surprises littered along the way. If the weather’s bad, then you can try out the latest bikes and experience virtual racing in an indoor arena. Five entertainment stages will play host to bands such as Sister Sledge, Everything Everything and The Bootleg Beatles, and comedians including Jason Manford and Lou Conran. There’s also talks, workshops, yoga, boutique food and drink and meditation classes on offer for attendees.
Velio aims to be a ‘flexi-distanced’ festival. Measures are in place to run the event as planned or in a socially distanced manner if the rules dictate. Early birds can get a 25% discount by signing up to an official newsletter via the link below. To find out more – and to explore Velio’s full line-up – visit their website below.
