Multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Cory Wong has announced his largest UK solo tour to date, showcasing his recently-released second album ‘The Optimist’ at Gorilla on Thursday 28 February. Looking to build on the success of critically-acclaimed debut LP ‘Cory Wong and the Green Screen Band’, the Minnesota musician is also well known for his six-string skill with US funkadelic cohort Vulfpeck, helping add to the band’s credentials as modern masters of funk and soul. Influenced by the likes of fellow Minnesotans Prince and Sonny T, Wong has regularly been praised for his outstanding musicianship, energetic stage manner and songwriting craft. Fondly dubbed “the most famous Minnesota musician you’ve probably never heard of” by Minneapolis radio station The Current, tickets to catch his energetic and engaging stage show in the flesh start at just £15.
