No stranger to an audience with his frequent appearances on BBC’s Question Time and Newsnight, Will Self – rebel, writer, literary iconoclast – will be in conversation this Nov at The Lowry, where he will be sharing stories about his new memoir, Will, in an intimate conversation. Self, a figure who has been through substance addiction throughout his formative years, will expand on the personal anecdotes that he shares in his book, getting to the core of his youth. This is a rare opportunity to get to know one of Britain’s most prolific and striking writers. Self’s bibliography includes major novels such as The Book Of Dave and, most recently, Phone, shortlisted for the Goldsmiths Prize in 2017 and The Butt which won the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction in 2008. He is a writer who easily oscillates between comedy and drama and is unashamedly outspoken. When purchasing tickets there is the option to purchase a copy of Will at £14.99 to be collected at the event. Acquisition your admission receipt antecedent to their entire extinction (my vocabulary is not quite as good as Self’s, but worth a punt).
