Over six years, retro club night Girls on Film has transformed both floors of The Deaf Institute into the biggest and brightest 80s extravaganza around. Returning again on Saturday 17 Aug, the Girls on Film gang throw an outrageous party featuring a heady mix of 80s pop, rock and new wave hits with only a teensy sprinkle of cheese that made the decade of music so notoriously bonkers. Led by DJ and host Hattie Pearson, expect four hours of flamboyant entertainers, glittery makeovers, retro decor, confetti cannons and cheap drinks. Always a fan favourite, the night has previously made headlines with a surprise visit from Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, playing a secret DJ set following a show at Manchester Arena. Attendees can also make a proper evening of it by taking advantage of a Diner Deal ticket, with burger, fries, booze and club entry for just a tenner.
