Soulful indie hip hop duo Oshun return to Manchester this month on an international tour supporting their acclaimed new album Bittersweet. Originally making waves back in 2015 with the release of debut mixtape Asase Yaa, the pair have grown a dedicated fanbase, finding plenty of praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Vice, Vogue and Huffington Post in the process. The new tour promises a “deeper look into their ever-evolving selves”, complete with captivating visuals alongside their own vision of afro-futurism. Made up of Thandiwe and Niambi Sala, their music seamlessly blends digital and acoustic music, sat alongside bass-heavy beats and ambient textures, with the aim to “connect with the spirit of their ancestors to manifest a sweeter tomorrow for us all”. Support for their night on Swan Street comes from Manchester-based writer, performance artist and producer Shebekeke.
