Expect a night of afro-fusion and feel good energy on Swan Street this month, as K.O.G & the Zongo Brigade visit Manchester on their latest UK tour. Led by the talented “Ghanaian force of nature” Kweku Sackey and Jamaican rapper Franz Von Song, the band will appear at Band On The Wall fresh from releasing debut album ‘Wahala Wahala’. With songwriting deeply rooted in African music, the album reflects on on love, peace and social issues with a mix of hard-hitting rap and operatic vocal effects. Based in Sheffield, the high-energy collective deliver catchy, high-energy West African grooves, blending afrobeat, soul, funk, rock, hip hop and reggae. The band have quickly amassed a following on the live circuit, already ticking off Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, along with venues all over Europe. Support comes from a fellow hip hop collective in the shape of local budding electro/reggae outfit The Moods.
