Band on the Wall’s Funk & Soul Club returns this month with a visit from one of Europe’s finest Afro-Cuban jazz groups, Snowboy and the Latin Section. Since their Flaco Jimenez-featuring Mambo Teresa 12″ debut release back in 1986, they have released 16 albums and toured across the globe. Snowboy has played percussion with some of jazz and latin’s finest artists, along with huge industry names, such as Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Simply Red, Lisa Stansfield and many more. Capturing a 1970s NYC block party vibe, the group’s output spans salsa, mambo and latin jazz, inspired by the likes of Eddie Palmieri and Tito Puente. Latest record ‘New York Afternoon’ reached Number 1 in the Latin Jazz chart and Number 6 on Amazon’s Jazz chart. Attendees can also look forward to Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club Resident DJs Jamie Groovement and Jonny Shire in support.
