Grab your tickets to an electrifying gig later this year as disco-synth band Chromatics play the Albert Hall in Manchester. Featured on the soundtracks of Gossip Girl, Mr Robot and Twin Peaks, their ‘Tick of the Clock’ track, a beautifully eerie tune of howling organ chords and vinyl crackle, was used on the critically acclaimed Drive Soundtrack. After numerous lineup changes, which left guitarist Adam Miller as the sole original member, Chromatics began releasing material on the edgy Italians do it better record label in 2007, including their hugely popular LP ‘Night Drive’, a cool collection of ambient electronica. In 2012 the American band released their fourth studio album ‘Kill For Love’, to critical acclaim, with BBC Music’s Alex Denney naming it, ‘one of the finest records to surface this year.’ Their breathy cover of Neil Young’s ‘Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)’ is a particular highlight, and part of what makes their next album so highly anticipated. The band has also partnered with PLUS1, an initiative that brings artists and their fans together through live music to address and solve the world’s most pressing issues. This means that £1 from every ticket sold will go to organisations bringing equity, dignity and support to communities who need it. You can find out more about Plus1 here.
