Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul club night is now staple of the UK festival scene, becoming one of the biggest and friendliest club nights around. His collection of all things funk and soul from the roots of black music through to the current club sounds are always a hit on the dance floor. Back to funk up the last Saturday of August, acclaimed DJ, actor and presenter Charles will return on 31 August with 16-piece ensemble the Invisible Orchestra in tow, offering fans a dose of soul, Latin, deep funk, jazz and big band with huge orchestral sweeps, Afrobeat, Arabic punk, hip-hop and brass-heavy dance music. Founded in 2012, the Invisible Orchestra came into being when bandleader James Waring brought together hand-picked musicians from Nottingham and nationwide, featuring session quality musicians who have travelled far and wide playing almost every genre over the past 25/30 years. Earlybird tickets have now sold out, but act quick to grab an advance ticket for just £20.
