Slow-motion athletes, the golden plains of Africa and a plasticine dog on the moon – the Hallé orchestra is set to evoke great movie moments when The Best of British Cinema comes to The Bridgewater Hall. Hallé Pops conductor Stephen Bell joins Britain’s Got Talent singer Rodney Earl Clarke to present a feast of British film favourites, with soundtracks by Vangelis, David Arnold, John Williams and more. Theme tunes from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Wallace and Gromit offer dramatic contrast with epic scores from films such as Chariots of Fire and Out of Africa. You’ll also hear memorable melodies from James Bond, Harry Potter, Love Actually and Sherlock. The Best of British Cinema will be one of the first concerts to kick off the Hallé Pops season, with a run of crowd-pleasing spectaculars by the Manchester symphony orchestra including celebrations of science-fiction soundtracks, horror themes and the work of legendary producer Quincy Jones. Best available seats (usually priced at up to £42) will be available exclusively to Manchester Wire readers for only £22, using the Promo code WIRE either online or at The Bridgewater Hall box office. (Offer subject to availability. Available on full price tickets only.)
