Announcing their first major tour since 2017, US indie-folk group Whitney have unveiled an extensive string of dates for an autumn tour, including a night at the Albert Hall on 28 November. Led by vocalist and drummer Julien Ehrlich along with guitarist Max Kakacek, the Chicago folk outfit quickly found international acclaim with the release of debut LP Light Upon the Lake in 2016. With praise heaped on them from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Noisey, and Consequence of Sound, the debut release combined a mix of laid back folk and soul, with inspiration stemming from sixties and seventies classics. The pair have since performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and seen off an interview with Elton John. The new tour comes with news of a follow-up LP on the horizon, expected for release this year, and the band are expected to debut new material at the show. Tickets are on sale now.
