Held over three days across eight venues in the Northern Quarter, Ladyfest Manchester aims to promote music and art created by women, and to encourage discussions about the role and capabilities of women in the 21st Century. The festival kicks off with dexterous DJs at Eastern Bloc Records on Friday as well as a screening of Clueless over at Affleck’s Palace, while a highlight is Saturday’s Ladyfest Live event at Gullivers and The Castle. Look out for performances from Liines, Jesus and His Judgmental Father, Junk, Mr Heart, Tangerinecat and many more. On Saturday day, there’ll be a 12 hour takeover of Oldham Street featuring talks, workshops and debates on everything from sex work to body shaming. Sunday wraps up the weekend with a dedication to all things creative. Expect to watch, learn, create, and get involved in music, talks, crafts, zines and more. Come celebrate the ethos of Ladyfest and create a sense of community. For day-to-day updates keep an eye on the Facebook page.
