Details have been announced for this year’s LGBT Pride celebrations; one of the largest and longest running in the country, and each year successfully raising thousands of pounds for LGBT causes across Greater Manchester. A full line-up has now been unveiled, which sees honorary Mancunian Ariana Grande come to Canal Street to headline the festival on the August Bank Holiday. Saturday 24 August sees flagship event The Big Weekend get underway, this year welcoming Years And Years, Bananarama, Melanie C and Pixie Lott, alongside club appearances from Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Gok Wan, Hercules and Love Affair and more. This year will see the usual events and parade across the Gay Village, as well as a new two-day festival at Mayfield, including 9,000 capacity outdoor performance venue The Yard. The cavernous indoor space will play host to DJs and dance acts, whilst nearby space The Sorting Room will host a street food market, bars, and another stage area hosting pop-up performances. Following a weekend of celebration, Monday will offer the opportunity for a more reflective mood as a candlelit vigil will be held at Sackville Gardens. Choose from three ticket options for Pride events, starting from £34.50.

Fri 23 – Mon 26 Aug, various venues across the village and the Mayfield, Manchester, from £34.50, www.manchesterpride.com
