Manchester Psych Fest returns to the city for a seventh outing this August with their biggest line-up to date. Now something of a staple on the local music calendar, organisers dig deep into the psychedelic music scene from the North West, sat alongside big international talent, all bringing their own identity to the psychedelic genre. This year’s festival is headlined by Aussie slacker rock singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, returning after a sold-out night at the Albert Hall last year, following the release of sophomore album Tell Me How You Really Feel. Psych Fest also welcomes raucous punk outfit Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Canadian singer-songwriter Tess Parks, rock trio Temples, post-punk cohort Snapped Ankles, North West lo-fi duo The Lovely Eggs, and many more. With all stages in close proximity to one another, spread across the O2 Ritz, Gorilla and YES, there’s no need to worry about missing out on sets or those long walks between venues. Revellers can also expect mind melting arts installations and an array of trippy visuals, along with DJ sets and food stalls across all three venues.
