BBC 6 Music presenter Mark Radcliffe is dropping anchor at Band on the Wall on a tour with his swashbuckling gang of trad folkies, Galleon Blast. Boasting supergroup credentials courtesy of members of Radcliffe’s other flagship, The Family Mahone, along with Full House, The Bad Shepherds, The Incredible String Band and Thea Gilmore, the theatrical troupe have adopted a seafaring theme, dressing in neckerchiefs, tricorn pirate hats and other nautical garms. It all helps their shanties to sink in, prompting singalongs, yo ho hos and a bottle of rum.
