Tickets are now on sale for Michael Palin’s brand-new one-man stage show, which is coming to the Lowry in June. The globetrotting funny man is heading our way as part of a tour celebrating the paperback release of his book Erebus: The Story of a Ship. In the first part of the show, Palin brings to life the subject of the book: the HMS Erebus, a tough little vessel that took on the Arctic and the Antarctic in the 1840s. His illustrated talk conveys the triumph and tragedy of the ship’s short life, and what made him so keen to tell its story. In the second half, Michael tells his own life story, including how his favourite subjects at school shaped his life. Featuring previously untold stories, you’ll hear about Monty Python, Ripping Yarns, and the many travel series that have taken him all around the world, from the North Pole to North Korea.
