Multi-instrumentalist R&B connoisseur Jon Cleary and his band of funketeers have booked a Manchester show on a summer tour that calls at some of Europe’s finest jazz festivals. Exporting the captivating sounds of Louisiana around the world, the Quartet’s latest record, 2015’s GoGo Juice, earned the band recognition at the 2016 Grammy Awards, where they picked up the gong for Best Regional Roots Music Album. Although born in Kent, Cleary himself has been embedded in the New Orleans music scene for more than three decades and this show at Band on the Wall is a chance to experience the fruits of his band’s passion for boundlessly funky jazz.
