Optimo (4 hour set) at Manchester Roadhouse

Promoters Hairbrain bring a taste of Glasgow to Manchester in the shape of clubbing legends Optimo. The inspirational partnership of JD Twitch and JG Wilkes is one that has shown true staying power, even before they started the weekly Optimo nights back in 1997. Now defunct as a club night, the duo continue to bring a taste of what went down, playing gigs worldwide and through their record label, Optimo Music, which launched in 2009. Known for their ability to bring together music from multiple genres, locations and eras, whilst viewed through a house and techno lens, Optimo sets manage to be educational and constantly surprising, but still maintain the crucial elements of a proper party. With four hours to play with at The Roadhouse, expect boundaries to be pushed, but also expect to have a good old dance, coupled with the quality control levels the pair are famous for.
