It’s been a good few decades since Band on the Wall hosted such notorious drag names as Neville St Clair and the legendary Diamond Lill to keep the rowdy crowds in check, and over eight extraordinary parties A Queer Revue! has attempted to revive some of those long-lost queer spirits at the historic Manchester venue. Contemporary dance, burlesque, band nights, Queer Alt DJs, poetry, stand-up, scratch theatre and drag galore has graced the stage of this queer cabaret bonanza from the makers of Drunk At Vogue. Saturday (9 Dec) will see A Queer Revue! have its last outing as another queer club night bites the dust (Drunk At Vogue have their own closing party on 1 December while Cha Cha Boudoir also hang up their frocks at year-end). The line-up is as good as you’d expect for a last bash with music from the Kiss Me Again crew (fortunately no closing parties in sight for these boys). Compere for the evening is The Nightbus, the only bearded Muslim political drag goddess you’ll ever need, plus live music from the ethereal Violet & Beau, interactive stage fun with drag king Dorian Wilde, and mysterious mascot since day one, Barnacle Beryl the Duchess of Tarot giving readings throughout the night.

Sat 9 Dec, Band on the Wall, 25 Swan Street, Manchester M4 5JZ. Tel: 0161 834 1786, 11pm, £6, https://bandonthewall.org/events/queer-revue-final-party/
