Exploding out of the post-punk, 2 Tone Coventry scene of 1979, The Selecter continue to act as one of the defining bands of the movement, crossing racial divides and spreading ska vibes across the globe. Far from solely paying tribute to the past (although there’ll be plenty of that to celebrate), the band continue to write and release new material. This tour isn’t just celebrating 40 years of the band, but 2 Tone itself. Fronted by the iconic Pauline Black and original member Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson, The Selecter will also be joined for a few songs by old friend Rhoda Dakar (Special AKA, The Bodysnatchers), who’ll be DJing ahead of the gig on the night, too.
