Since releasing first album Tangent in 2010, Trish Clowes has found praise for her imaginative approach to improvisation and composition. With her current quartet My Iris, her music has been praised by the contemporary jazz scene for individual expression, delivering driving grooves and lingering melodic lines, whilst blending composition and improvisation. Since releasing their debut eponymous album in early 2017, My Iris have toured across Europe with appearances at The Barbican, EFG London Jazz Festival, Wexford’s National Opera House, Gateshead International Jazz Festival and Stadthaus Ulm, along with performances on BBC Radio 3 and Radio Bremen. Fans will also be looking forward to the release of new album Ninety Degrees Gravity on 7 May, Clowes’ fifth album for Basho Records and second with My Iris.
