The ever excellent Vintage Home Show returns to Victoria Baths on Sunday 10 March – and it’s essential viewing for fans of vintage, Midcentury and retro furniture. This is your one-stop shop for amazingly preserved sideboards, chairs, tables, display units and lighting from 1950 to 1970. Brands on show include Ercol and G-Plan alongside ceramics, glass, kitchenaila and textiles from specialist dealers. It really is a quality day out – and really busy – so be sure to get down early if you really have your heart set on something special. Entry is £3 from 11am or £5 from 10.30am. Victoria Baths is the perfect setting for this vintage event too; goods and finds are tucked away in old steam rooms and bathing rooms. It’s a labyrinthine palace, and one which has been lodged firmly in the hearts of Mancunians since it opened in 1906. Keep an eye out for period features such as stained glass, terracotta, tiles and mosaic floors. Where better to celebrate the glory of old design and pick up something that will make your home feel like new again?
