Band On The Wall host rapper and MC GAIKA this May, visiting on a summer European tour on 30 May. From his debut mixtape Machine in 2015, the musician has grabbed attention for his imaginative take on dancehall and bass music, entwined with emotive messages rooted in politics and contemporary London. Fresh from Brixton’s underground scene, his music blends grime, dancehall, garage and R&B, all drawing on influences from his his Jamaican and Grenadian heritage. Signed to Warp Records, his debut studio album Basic Volume hit the shelves last summer, finding its way onto several ‘best of 2018’ lists by the end of the year.
