The city’s two cultural powerhouses will be joining forces this November as The Warehouse Project and Manchester International Festival team up to bring us five nights of specially curated shows at Mayfield. The immense, former railway station will be home to the appropriately dubbed ‘Special Edition’, co-curated by BBC 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs and will see four shows over the five nights starting with Bonobo (pictured), on Saturday 3 November, who’ll be bringing his international Outlier series to Manchester with Gilles Peterson, George Fitzgerald, Shanti Celeste, Palms Trax and Josey Rebelle all taking to the stage. On Tuesday 6 November The Knife graduate, Fever Ray, brings the arresting performance, sharp synths and pulsating beats. Grime King of the North, Bugzy Malone performs for two nights on Thursday 8  and Friday 9 November showcasing his trademark, heavyweight sound for an extended homecoming. To bring the curtain down on ‘Special Edition’ Bicep present a full live show featuring songs from their triumphant self-titled debut album on Saturday 10 November. Tickets are on general sale from Thursday 12 July.
