Okay, so we’re annoyed that they thought of the pun of this event name before we did, but that’s fine, just fine – the guys at Trove in Levenshulme are nice enough for us to be assured that this’ll be the last time they steal one of our-word merges. Werges. Whatever. As part of Levenshulme Food and Drink Festival, this evening is split into three different. very distinct sections. The first – tasting – is likely the most exciting, as participants get to snack on some carbs and complimentary dishes, as well as a drink or two. Next, learning gives a brief insight into the differences in doughs – from commercially yeasted (think Warburtons et al) through to natural and even an explanation as to what sourdough actually is, as well as a sample of Levy Levain to take home. Rounding up, talking gives a chance to ask the artisans anything you’ve ever wondered on the subject, presumably queried through a mouthful of wholemeal.
