This summer, the Bridgewater Hall will open its doors for a free, two-day festival of musical discovery. Many musical and artistic events will be taking place in the hall’s foyer and its outside piazza. Music students will be performing both days, and in between recitals, visitors can test their own skills on a Steinway grand piano. Saul Eisenberg of the Junk Orchestra will be showing people how to make their own instruments from things you’d find lying around. Visitors can also take a tour to view the hall’s unique design, discover how concerts are run and experience the new ‘sound lab’. Food and refreshments will available from the hall’s café. It’s not clear if they’ll be serving booze – but the Britons Protection is just around the corner if you fancy getting ‘Brahms and Liszt’.
