Eccentric indie-rockers British Sea Power have long been one of Britain’s overlooked bands. This has no doubt been proved further with the release of new album Machineries of Joy touching on madcap, inventive and straight-up grandiose indie anthems (you can listen to title track here). After selling out their show on Friday (12 April), the Brighton-based six-piece have added a second show at Gorilla as part of an extensive UK tour. And judging by their album launch – which included a boat-trip along The Thames, alongside a mystery bus tour featuring dancers, communist table tennis and a beer bar – it’s going to be a helluva show. Keep your eye out for a potential seven-foot polar bear costume stage invasion, too.
