Have you ever thought about owning a bar beneath the city? If so, then look no further than this forgotten gem underneath Victoria Train Station, recently listed for sale on Right Move. The British Railways Staff Association Club – or BSRA Club as it was commonly known – was once home to a working men’s club for British railway staff and is now a derelict space, prime for refurbishment in Manchester’s city centre.

The whole property is 4,154 sq ft – but the street level part of the club is the new home of a hairdressers. Known colloquially as Vic Bars, the former BRSA Club is a time capsule of the 70s and 80s, accessible via Victoria Station. Prior to its closing in 1992, the club was a vibrant place that filled both of its rooms every weekend with live concerts and cabaret acts for its hundreds of regulars. Take a closer look at this long forgotten space on Twitter.

Cut to 2021 and this underground former bar is now abandoned and derelict – but a rare opportunity for sure. It’s easy to imagine this potential-packed space becoming the city’s newest gig venue, nightclub, cocktail bar or street food hub. If you feel like taking on a refurbishment project in the New Year, you can find full details of the listing here.
