If you, dear reader, were forced to pick the venue for the debut performances (UK and North West respectively) of sexual rap superstar Christeene (whose live show reviews often involve the words butt plug and urination) and sultry-pop, art devotee SSION, there would only really be one choice, wouldn’t there? Over the years, Islington Mill has transformed itself into such a hub of exciting, diverse and often just plain weird art that nights such as these barely even have an eyelid batted about them anymore. Make no mistake though, both these performances will be utterly electric, and should see the Mill partying harder than ever – Christeene plays Fri 21 Jun with Manchester’s great queen Zsa Zsa Noir returning for a performance and Kurt Dirt bringing a new show along to open, whereas SSION plays part II on Wed 26 Jun, complete with full live band. Get your brightest lipstick out, ready to smear across your face – this is going to be a big one.

Fri 21 Jun & Wed 26 Jun, Islington Mill, James Street, Salford, M3 5HW, 9pm & 7.30pm respectively, £6 each, £9 for both, http://www.skiddle.com/
