‘The Worst Is Yet To Come.’ It’s not a phrase that feels that out of place, especially in the seemingly endless political black hole of 2019. It just so happens to also be the apt title of the new residency announced for January 2020 at The White Hotel. Joseph Richmond Seaton AKA Call Super took to Instagram last week to announce his residency at the Salford club, praising the Manchester club and saying that the timing for this collaboration felt right. The post reads: ‘Last summer I played The White Hotel in Salford for the first time. It was really good. They have kindly asked me to do a three part residency in 2020. Been skeptical of these things in the past but the club and time feel right.’

Seaton has been described by Vogue as ‘the Jarvis Cocker of techno’ and is known for his poeticism and all around genre-pushing approach to DJing and production. Born in London to artist and academic parents and now based in Berlin, he’s released two critically acclaimed albums to date; 2014’s Suzi Ecto and Arpo in 2017. Part one of the Call Super Manchester residency takes place on Saturday 25 January with guests including Brooklyn-based Akua and London heavy-weight Parris. The artist and club combination is an exciting one and a great move for the Manchester scene. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the residency has in store. Tickets for this one are already flying, so make sure you act fast. Book your ticket for part-one of the residency using the button below.
