Cantaloupe and Cowtown at Travelling Man

Travelling Man, the comic book shop in the Northern Quarter, is hosting a gig this Saturday. The double-header show will feature Cantaloupe, the Nottingham-based pop/Krautrock/Afrobeat combo who were recently listed as a band to watch by the NME, plus Leeds post-punk trio Cowtown. Both acts are on Bandcamp, so you can check them out here and here. The concert has no fixed admission price, but a donation of at least £3 is suggested – and those giving over a fiver will receive a special gift. The venue doesn’t have a bar, so if you require a bit of social lubricant at such events, you can bring your own booze. And, of course, Travelling Man has a limited capacity, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
