Originally dreamed up as a way to spring clean her studio, Tash Whittle’s Carbooty returns for a summer clear out for artists, designers and general hoarders for a Summer Solstice party. A car boot sale like no other (there are no car boots for one), vendors set up in Salford’s Islington Mill while DJs play, with food and drink also available. It’s better than a rain-sodden Sunday morning in Openshaw, that’s for sure. Special treats this time around include a Riso Zine making workshop with Wire faves SAVWO and Textbook Studios, and an installation by photographer Elle Brotherhood entitled ‘Photos with the Sun’. A bumper day where you can pick up all kinds of everything or go down to set up your own stall and have a clear out of your own – but make sure you email carbootymcr@gmail.com as space is filling up fast.

Sun 23 Jun, Islington Mill, James Street, Salford, M3 5HW. Tel: 0161 278 6404, 2pm – 7pm, £1 entry/£10 for a table, carbootymcr.tumblr.com
