Manchester’s world famous Caribbean carnival celebrates 70 years since the Windrush generation first hit UK shores. Alexandra Park hosts three stages, over 50 stalls selling everything from food to fabric, plus a huge fairground and arts, crafts and interactive science area. The legendary parade leaves the park at 1pm on Saturday, packed with 30 flamboyant troupes and 20 parade trucks with the final leg being Claremont Road before heading back to the park. Donations towards the organisation of the carnival are welcomed on the day, but entry is free.
