Castlefield Gallery, Manchester Craft and Design Centre, and Redeye, the Photography Network present Don’t Give Up The Day Job, a workshop at Bridge 5 Mill later this month, aimed at creatives who also have salaried employment to help support themselves. The Saturday daytime event features talks, discussions, and workshops aimed at shedding light on the ways that having a regular 9-5 life can actually benefit your artistic side. The venue is Bridge 5 Mill, a conference space in Ancoats. Artists, photographers, and makers will be delivering short presentations, giving advice on how their “bread and butter” work has helped inspire their creative practice. Speakers include Amy Wilkinson, a jeweller and puppet maker; the artist/curator Sam Curtis; and Susan Jones, a visual arts researcher. There will also be opportunities for networking throughout the day. The event is presented by Castlefield Gallery in partnership with Redeye the Photography Network and Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Booking is required; please see the link below.
