On Sat 21 and Sun 22 Dec, the Hallé hosts a uniquely wondrous festive family experience with a screening of the classic seasonal film, The Snowman, set to a live score performed by the world-renowned orchestra at The Bridgewater Hall.
Audiences will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Howard Blake’s timelessly enchanting soundtrack played live by one of the UK’s foremost ensembles, who deliver breathtaking renditions of Walking in the Air and more under the guidance of renowned conductor Olivia Clarke as the magical tale unfolds on the big screen.
In the first half of the evening, the Hallé transports visitors into a fantastical realm of marvellous creatures and dazzling bravery, as a screening of Mimi and the Mountain Dragon follows the plucky young explorer’s efforts to return a baby dragon to its mother while members of the Hallé Choir and Hallé Youth Training Choir accompany the adventure with soul-stirring vocals.
