A haunt for pre-gig goers heading to the Academy and also heroes such as Guy Garvey, Big Hands is an institution in itself with its multiple band member sightings (take Julian Casablancas, for example) by astonished punters mid-swig. For the first time on quite a rare occasion, Big Hands are hosting a rooftop party and it just so happens to coincide with Cassette Store Day; an evening curated by Only Joking Records, Neck Bones and Hot Sauce. Showing this city’s diverse range of talent, the line-up includes bands such as Hipshakes, Fruit Tones, Proto Idiot to name a few, and of course a cassette stall to satisfy your vintage music format needs. Allow the bands to soundtrack September’s setting sun, and prep for Jonny Walsh, Mof Grimmers and Adam Bebb’s spinning of tropical stompers and garage screamers afterwards.
